About me
Jazz pianist, educator, and lifelong student of the music.
I’m Tanakrit Tongnopnua, a jazz pianist and teacher based in Bangkok, with roots in the Montréal jazz scene. I grew up around music, earned my degree in Jazz Studies from the University of North Texas, and later moved to Montréal to study and perform.
Over the years I’ve played Bangkok venues such as Bluebird Jazz Bar, Groovin’ High, Alone Together, Bangkok Mojo and Sirocco, as well as festival stages including the Thailand International Jazz Conference and Big Mountain Music Festival. I also run Talk Jazz Academy, teaching jazz piano to players at every level.
For hotels and events, I bring that same training and stage experience to the room — reading the crowd, shaping the energy, and keeping the evening effortless for you and your guests.
What to expect
Built around your service.
- Sets typically run 2 to 3 × 45 minutes with breaks — length, timing, and number of sets are arranged around your service schedule.
- Repertoire spans jazz standards, bossa and lounge sets, Thai pop and international favourites, plus guest requests on the night.
- Energy is shaped across the evening: soft background playing early in service, warmer and more upbeat as the room fills.
- Professional, punctual, and hotel-ready — appropriate dress, own instrument specs supplied in advance, and quiet load-in.
- Available for one-off events, weekly residencies, and ongoing bookings.
